Comedian and Family Feud Canada host Gerry Dee unleashes his special on Netflix today – get ready to smile. Gerry Dee: Funny You Should Say That, companion to his book of the same title, presents him as an average Joe, husband, father working actor, a man of the people, but he lets rip on topics many of us don’t mention out loud. Like monogamy. He is not a fan. Married with two kids, he doesn’t “like it” and adds that no one in the world likes it. Also, since he and his wife sleep with their dog he adds that he’s not just monogamous, he’s also celibate. And how do you bring up the subject of open marriage? Plus the real reason he doesn’t want a divorce – these are the kinds of sacred cows he eviscerates hilariously. The former teacher rats out his students, admits he knows all the serial killers because his father, apparently a hardened policeman, regaled him with stories of the worst of the worst, Dahmer, Bundy, Gacy in vivid detail. Which is when Dee sees an eleven-year-old girl in the audience … Oops! Fun and short. Even harmless banana bread is eviscerated. The guy’s honest and entertaining with an edge which he tones way down for FFC. The show was recorded live at Espace St-Denis in Montreal during the Just for Laughs festival.
