CBC/ BET+ ambitious Black-led dramatic series The Porter chronicles the rich history of Black train conductors in Canada, their role in opening the country while enduring horrific working conditions and fighting to unionise. It also spotlights the nurses of the Black Cross, a group created to serve the Black community when the Red Cross would not. What She Said’ Anne Brodie spoke with cast members Aml Ameen, Ronnie Rowe Jr., Mouna Traoré, Loren Lott, and Olunike Adeliyi about their participation in this rich, shocking, and important series.
