Apple TV’s futuristic sci-fi kids’ series Circuit Breakers, set in an otherwise recognisable small-town world, follows a group of high schoolers who navigate this important period in their lives, through RL and plenty of top-level tech. The school lobby holograms and outdoor manipulated force fields are visual reminders that it’s a new age, even though things look pretty suburban and regular. The students build, experiment, and explore, always pushing the boundaries when one day, they go too far.
