France’s Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot played by Haley Bennett was what we’d call today a radical feminist; she singlehandedly saved their vineyard when her husband died, grew it into a prestige brand that we still drink today, against the misogyny of the early 1800s. Her story is a triumph, brought to vivid life in Thomas Napper’s film Widow Clicquot.  What She Said Anne Brodie spoke with Bennett and Napper:
