A Canadian Podcast Amplifying Women’s Voices
What She Said is a Canadian podcast dedicated to amplifying the voices of women—smart, funny, creative, entrepreneurial, opinionated women—doing extraordinary things across the country.

Originally launched as a nationally syndicated radio show, What She Said has evolved into a digital-first platform for real conversations that matter. From business and health to parenting, activism, style, sex, money, and midlife reinvention, if there’s a woman at the helm, it’s a story worth telling.
Each episode is designed to leave listeners feeling informed, entertained, and empowered, and maybe even ready to tackle their own next big thing. If you’re a woman who’s building something, navigating change, or just looking for a little solidarity, What She Said was made for you.
Meet Candace

Host and executive producer Candace Sampson has spent more than a decade championing women’s stories in Canadian media. From the early days of mommy blogging and viral op-eds to her long-running lifestyle site Life in Pleasantville, her retreat company Girl Trips, and What She Said, Candace has built a reputation for approachable professionalism, a sharp sense of humour, and a strong point of view.
She’s not here for clickbait. She’s here for connection.
Whether she’s interviewing a CEO, a content creator, or a changemaker, her goal is always the same: help women feel seen, heard, and maybe a little less alone.
Candace’s experience spans TV, radio, and digital platforms, but the mission has never changed—shine a light on the stories that deserve to be heard. Off-mic, she’s a firm believer in solo travel, loud laughs with girlfriends, and treating midlife like an adventure, not a slowdown.
She’s also the woman behind Girl Trips, a Canadian retreat company for women 45+, and continues to share recipes, travel tips, and real-life reflections on Life in Pleasantville.
