Nina Bloomgarden plays Violet, a young woman vacationing with her father following the traumatic loss of her mother. They’re staying at the Oceana Visa Resort in Cancun but there is little joy or healing despite the idyllic setting. Violet meets a young man (Skyler Gisondo). They disappear one night without a trace. Police suspect foul play, just as a massive hurricane lashes the place, killing everyone there. The Resort’s tantalising play on reality, with sides of comedy is a winner. What She Said’ Anne Brodie spoke with Bloomgarden.
