Julia Stiles takes a new direction in the family comedy-drama The Lake, an Amazon Canada Original series, inspired by Canadian cottage country culture. Stiles is based in LA and married to Canadian filmmaker Preston Cook and knew nothing of the lifestyle, real estate obsession, and social positioning in Muskoka, Georgian Bay and North Bay where the series was shot. She was intrigued and hooked. Stiles plays Maisy-May, the wicked stepsister who inherits the cabin that’s been in the family for generations, much to their shock. And she has plans for it. What She Said’ Anne Brodie spoke with Stiles about the cunning behind Maisy-May’s warm smile.
