Former Toronto animation professor Deanna Marsigliese has served as Character Art Director at Pixar Animation Studios since 2012 and has contributed to some of its best-loved animated films like Inside Out, Toy Story 4, Soul, The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, Incredibles 2, Onward and on June 18th on Disney+, Luca. Luca is a colourful sea monster living with his family beneath the waves on the sunlit Italian coast. He’s curious about life above and looking for it, discovers a whole new world. What She Said’ Anne Brodie spoke with Marsigliese, also a great style inspiration, from Los Angeles about bringing an imaginary boy/sea monster to vivid life.
