Sarah Megan Thomas was fascinated by the history of female spies in WWII, particularly American Virginia Hall, an ex-pat living in France determined to save her beloved adopted country from the Nazis. Thomas researched, wrote, directed and stars as Hall in A Call to Spy which she told What She Said’ Anne Brodie, was a labour of love.
